Doll: *enter her tent with a sigh* Sorry for earlier, Shine- *doesn't see him* ... *See's a bunch of candy on her pillow, along with a note* What's that? *Takes the note, reading it* ... *Sigh* Idiot... I should be the one to apologize...

Second-string: *looking inside* Hey, pipsqueak!

Doll: *turning around, surprised* U-uh?

Second-string: There's a guy searching for your friend. You know, the glowing one?

Doll: ... What?

Jaune: *covered by a bunch of snakes* I can't continue to pester her with this kind of talk, you know what i mean, right?

Snake: *eating one of the candy Jaune brought from the Store, nodding*

Jaune: *sigh* It's as if i can't keep myself from bringing back bad memories. *Lean his head against the table* And i couldn't find a single clue on where those kids would be. *Groan* I'm a failure...

Snake: "You aren't a failure, Shine. This is just something a single man can't manage on his own" - says Wordsworth *pats Jaune's back* "I don't mind helping ya! I got one of the best senses of smell in the whole world!" - says Wilde

Jaune: *turning his face towards the snake, booping it's nose* Thanks buddy, but i doubt you'd survive outside this tent. *Sad smile* You're a tropical Snake, and it's too cold at this time of year.

Snake: ... *Point to the candle illuminating Jaune's face*

Jaune: *perplexed* What is it, Snake?

Snake: "Couldn't you use your light to keep us warm? You know, like you did with Snake?" -says Emily.

Jaune: *frown* Kept you warm? *Lifting his head from the table* What do you mean?

Snake: "*chuckle* Well, when you healed Snake, your light stayed in him for a while, keeping him warm for a while." -says Emily.

Jaune: *blinking* Really? *Pensive* I know animals can use aura, my- *frown* (Weird, Why do i know that Ruby has a dog?) *shaking his head* (Well, that's not really important.) My friend has a dog with aura, so i might be able to unlock one of your snakes's... *Scratching his head* Don't know how though. *Sigh* And i'd need something to charge my scroll to learn how...

Doll: *looking inside, seeing Jaune covered in snakes* SHINE!?

Jaune: *falling down the chair from surprise, the snakes scattering* Freckles, don't scream like that, you almost gave me a heart attack!

Doll: *mumbling* Sorry about that... *Remembering what she came to do* Wait, no, nevermind that, we are leaving town.

Jaune: *blinking* ...Today!? Didn't we have 3 more days?!

Doll: *shake her head* Joker is leaving for a while and Dagger wants us to depart as soon as possible. *Looking worried* And your little magic trick is beginning to make waves, so it's best for us to skedaddle as soon as possible.

Jaune: ... Really?

Doll: *rubbing her forehead* Shine, you healed someone outside of the camp, what do you think was going to happen!?

Jaune: ... H-how did you-

Doll: *sigh* Shine, you can't go around during the night to heal the less fortunate while searching for the kids. You're gonna get yourself killed.

Jaune: But it was just one-

Doll: *deadpan* I won't forgive you if you lie to me.

Jaune: ... Ok fine, i healed a couple of people, big deal. *Shrug* I was wearing a mask so nobody would recognize me-

Doll: ... Shine, you literally shine when you heal people. A mask isn't going to change that!

Jaune: ... Uh... Oops?

Circus Light chapter 4

(by the way, this story takes place around a year before the event of book of circus.)

Doctor: *taking a look at Freckles leg* That's impossible... *Shaking his head* Your leg was broken, i even had to reset the bone, how did you heal so fast!?

Freckles: *looking down* Shi- i mean Jaune used his strange light thing on me. He calls it aura and... Well, i didn't want him to worry so i just said i hurt myself during practice...

Doctor: *examine more closely* There's not even a scar left... *Sigh* Honestly, i don't know if i should be in awe or afraid at this point. *Frowning* Where is he?

Freckles: *shaking her head* No idea. He said he wanted to visit the city before we leave.

Doctor: You left him alone? Doesn't he suffer from delusional tendencies?

Freckles: *moving her leg* You know, i don't think it was a delusion anymore... And no, he's with Dagger.

Jaune: *looking at the map* So, where are we?

Dagger: *pointing at the map* We are in the city of Manchester. *Tracing a line with his finger* Our next destination should be Birmingham.

Jaune: We aren't passing through Liverpool?

Dagger: *shrug* We already passed through there, just before you arrived in fact.

Jaune: *pensive* I see... You said you only stayed a month at each place, right?

Dagger: More like 2 weeks.

Jaune: *looking back at the map* By the way, you said you were almost all from the same orphanage, right? Except for Snake.

Dagger: *smiling* Yep! Though we all knew each other from before that time.

Jaune: *pensively looking at the map* ... Say, you ever thought about giving them a visit?

Dagger: *sigh* All the time, but we don't really have the time to-

Jaune: *tracing a route on the map* Well, if we go east then south instead of south directly, going through Leeds, Sheffield, Nottingham, Leicester then going all the way east to Cambridge, we would arrive by the north east of London, where you said you were staying, right?

Dagger: *pensively looking at the roadmap* Hm... I'd have to speak with Joker about that. *Shrug* Father only asked us to get to London for February, so a little detour shouldn't hurt too much.

Jaune: Oh, maybe we could buy some gifts for them? If Joker accepts, of course.

Dagger: *grinning* Now that's a great idea, Shine!

Jaune: *sigh* Still not my name...

Joker: Changing our itinerary? *Pensive* The cities are less populous, but there are more of them...

Dagger: *serious* Think about it, Joker. We could take the time to see if the kids are doing well. *Shaking his head* Father really changed these last couple of years, and i'm worried about them.

Joker: ... As long as we are doing as he asks, they shouldn't be in danger-

Dagger: But what if they are? You saw what he was doing with them, we are becoming monsters!

Joker: *sitting down in a chair, looking at the maps* ... I know you are right, but what are we supposed to-

Beast: *entering the tent in a hurry* Snake was attacked by some of the visitors!

Joker: *looking up at Dagger* We will finish this conversation later. Go with her.

Dagger: *nodding* Of course. *Leaving the tent*

Beast: *not believing her eyes, seeing Snake completely fine* Snake!? B-but you were bleeding!

Dagger: *smiling* Oh Beast, you didn't have to lie if you desired my attention-

Beast: *ignoring Dagger* What happened!?

Snake: *pointing at his left* "Shine took care of Snakes wounds." - says Emily

Beast: *looking for any wounds* They're gone, All of them! *Looking around* Where is-

*CRACK*

Beast: *looking in the direction of the sound, seeing Jaune standing in front of the thugs who tried to hurt Snake* Smile! That's dangerous, don't-

Jaune: *Who just punched (and broke) a reinforced wooden box in two* If you ever dare hurt my friend again... *Taking one step closer, making them recoil* I'll hurt you tenfold, understand?

Thugs: *nodding, before running away*

Jaune: ... *Slowly pulling his hand out of the box* Man that hurts! *Looking at his broken fist* And i already used a good chunk of my aura...

Beast: *walking to him* What the hell was that!?

Jaune: *turning around to see them* Oh, Beast! *Hiding his fist* H-how are you doing tod-

Beast: *grabbing his arm, looking at his fist* You broke your hand, idiot!

Jaune: *looking at the ground* Sorry... I just wanted to scare them away. *Nervous smile* B-beside, i'll be fine tomorrow-

Beast: *angry* Now listen here, when something like that happens, don't act by yourself! You could put yourself in danger!*Sigh* I know you believe you are a hero from some imaginary world, but we don't need you to go around and get yourself hurt or worse!

Jaune: But-

Dagger: *putting a hand on his shoulder* She's right, for the most part. *Sigh* It's nice that you want to protect us, but we aren't slouch. *Smile* Honestly, believe a bit in us, we've been traveling for years. We can take care of ourselves.

Jaune: ... *Sigh* Fine...

Snake: *looking at his own hands, a light green glow slowly healing the superficial scratch he still had* ... Warm...
